Different Sizes, Shapes and Colours!

Porcelain is an amazing stone, that replicates natural material so beautifully. Being very durable and cost effective, it is becoming an increasingly preferred choice for wall cladding and flooring inside the house amongst customers. In addition, thanks to its stunning attractiveness, it is also becoming a very popular and common stone to use in various restaurants, cafes, and some shops, in order to attract clients. However, now that technology is moving swiftly forward, porcelain tiles are even being used for the outdoors as well. If you shop around a little, you will find outdoor porcelain stone in various shapes, sizes, colours, designs and even thicknesses. You have got all the options you can imagine and more!

Many people are using big glass sliding doors in order to separate the rear of their home from their garden, and especially when the floor is level, it looks like one room with a glass panel in between. What ruins the entire look, is when the indoor tiles are very different to the ceramic or concrete used outside, as there will be too many colours for the eye to take in, and so therefore will not be pleasing to the eye. Fortunately, though, manufacturers have noticed the gap in the market and have thought about the solution very long and hard. They have now managed to produce outdoor porcelain tiles for your patio, that look exactly the same as the indoor tiles they offer… exactly the same size, exactly the same colour, exactly the same colour, so that you can put the same tile for the outdoor as you used for your indoor, and that will create a stunning effect that will make the garden and the house seem like one massive hall; it will give off a very airy and relaxing sensation! Furthermore, because they are the same size as the indoor tiles, you can match up the grouting in between the tiles, so that all the lines connect between the inside and the outside of the house, so that it will look very neat and tidy.

In addition to patio tiles that match the indoor tiles on offer, manufacturers are now producing tiles that can replicate beautiful designs. For example, you can find some tiles that replicate a mosaic path, with many small pebbles creating a lovely design, which if it was real mosaic, would cost a huge fortune to install, it would take a much longer period of time for completion, and would not be as durable or last as long as having one relatively large tile that can copy that exact look. Furthermore, you can have tiles that form large circles or spirals or squares when put together, and so you can form beautiful designs as you wish, such as having small semi-circles on the edge of your garden or centring a large circle in the middle of the patio, to create an extremely elegant look. Moreover, some tiles can even seem like natural grass. Nobody likes grass especially when it is raining and damp, as the whole garden becomes muddy and dirty and this all transfers inside the house when coming back indoors. However, you can now have beautiful outdoor tiles that look exactly like natural grass, so it gives off a very nice design, but you do not have to worry about dirt, cutting the grass regularly, or even adjusting the floor level every now and again – saving you the hassle for a much nicer look.

Outdoor tiles these days can also come in a very wide range of various thicknesses. For example, you can have very thin and light weight 9mm tiles that you can use to place on your small garden walls or pillars or even use to clad the external front of the house. To add to that, you can get tiles that are 12mm thick, in order to level them with the internal house and use them on stairs in the garden, which can be bought with the exact same design as all tiles of the house. Even though these tiles are thin, they are premium outdoor tiles, which can still withstand heavy weights and pressures, even if they are soaking wet or are under very high temperatures or experiencing any other extreme weather conditions. However, you can find even thicker tiles, measuring 2cm (equivalent to 20mm), which can be used to put underneath a garden shed, a large plant bed, or even used as a driveway to park heavy cars and other large vehicles on top. These thick outdoor tiles are very heavy duty, and can withstand lots of pressure, and yet they are still produced to become outdoor tiles, very sturdy and anti-slip and beautiful looking and long lasting, but best of all, they are still very competitively priced!

Some outdoor porcelain these days also come in a wood effect. These also come in the various thicknesses that we have discussed above. In addition, they also come in a very wide variety of colours… to replicate wood sourced from different types of trees from different parts of the world even. These sorts of tiles are mainly used in gardens and driveways of traditional looking homes, and they would look glamorous as they continue that vintage look. You cannot imagine having modern tiles in the patio of a Victorian styled house, so you must use either a rustic effect tile or a wooden effect tile, and the good thing is that the wooden tiles also come in various different sizes and lengths, unlike natural wood, and so you get to choose a size of tile that exactly matches with your house size and shape.

We can see therefore that going forward, porcelain tiles are the best solution not only for the indoors, but also to be used for the outdoors of the house. You have a very large variety with regards to colour, design, shape, size and even thickness, so that you can use the same tile for your indoors, patio, pathway, driveway and even garden walls and pillars.
