Why matching basins and porcelain tiles in new bathrooms is very important

There are many different rooms and components that join together to make an ideal home, but some have a more significant presence than the rest, and bathrooms are one of those kinds of rooms, whereby it plays a vital role in everyone’s daily schedule. This is the place in which we get to freshen up and clean ourselves, and so resultingly, the bathroom(s) must look extremely light, clean, airy, and refreshing. Practicality is a very important element in bathrooms to consider, as bathrooms tend to hold many different tools and products, from cleaning detergents to skin and hair products, and bathrooms must be able to hide all of these various things from the eye, in order to leave a tidy looking room that looks very welcoming. There are also many different kinds of furniture and equipment that come together to form a perfect bathroom, and each one has a wide spectrum of different designs, colours, and styles available to choose from, and so customers can easily match their bathroom furniture and fixtures to their beautiful tiles, to create a stunning atmosphere within the bathroom.

Bathrooms essentials versus preferred features

There are many essential components of bathrooms, and many others that are just preferred by some customers, and so they are optional – not required in every bathroom. This means that customers must have a rough plan as to what things they absolutely need and what other things may just be optional extras when creating their new bathroom. They must be able to put all of the components into these categories, so that their bathroom does not become packed with unnecessary furniture that may make the whole room seem a little claustrophobic. It may seem overwhelming initially, to go through this process, however once customers go into it, and break down the process into smaller easier steps, it will in fact become very enjoyable.

Significance of porcelain within a bathroom/

The flooring and wall cladding of a room are of the most significantly attractive aspects, and bathrooms are not an exception to this, and this is because they cover the whole room and they have the power to set the entire atmosphere depending on the colours and designs chosen. The usage of porcelain tiles in homes and especially in bathrooms has been increasing dramatically recently, as a result of the many attributes that porcelain carries along with it. For instance, porcelain is very known for its low absorption rate of less than 0.5% percent, which is staggering compared to its competitors from ceramics, LVT and engineered wooden flooring. This value means that porcelain is highly stain resistant, as barely any liquids can sneak past the surface and damage the colour of the stone base. This makes porcelain very appealing, and this is only one of the many boastful characteristics of this stone.

Bathroom basin – one of the most important components

Of course, every bathroom will require a sink and a tap of some sort, as the bathroom’s main purpose is for refreshing and cleaning. Having any other components such as a mirror, lamp and other such products can be very desirable but is completely optional and may not be preferred depending on the space available and the design that the customer is attempting to achieve. Basins come in many different sizes, styles, colours and even functions. In turn, this then allows for the basin (along with its tap and waste and other fixtures) to be matched up with not only the rest of the furniture of the room, but also with all of the tiles of the room. Most people only think of matching the colours in a way that all of them are complimentary to each other. However, this should not always be the case, as some people choose to go for very contrasting colours, which then allows for all of the features of the bathroom to stand out and look striking in their own ways, which makes the place a very eye catching one.

Sinks and Vanities

Customers can choose to go for two main categories of basins, they can either have a sink by itself or they can get a vanity with a basin, and this depends on how much storage space they will require in their bathroom, but also how much space they have got, as vanities usually take up more space than sinks. However, with regards to sinks, they will either have visible piping, or they will have a large column to hide all of the pipework. However, depending on the style of the rest of the bathroom, this may or may not fit in, because exposed pipes give a more traditional look to the room, and so if the rest of the bathroom looks quite traditional, then the exposed pipework will look very nice, and it will add a touch of elegance to the atmosphere.

Freestanding or wall mounted sinks

Sinks can come in either form, freestanding or wall mounted, and of course within each category there are many sinks of various styles such as round or square, in order to match with the rest of the bathroom furniture. Wall mounted sinks do look sleeker and simpler usually, as they are much thinner, and take up much less space, as they are hung up on the wall and have free space underneath.

Basins with Vanities

Vanities are amazing, as they are multipurpose products, such that they add to the practicality element of the bathroom, but also look very nice and of course function as wash basins. Basins can either come in undermount or overmount form, and this choice will depend on the style of the rest of the room. Furthermore, vanities can come in many different sizes, styles, textures and designs, and customers can even use the same porcelain tile that they have used for the flooring and wall cladding of the bathroom, in order to cover the top of the vanity (as a sort of work surface), and so that will completely match with the rest of the room, and it will look very bespoke and elegant.
